A 4-story underground luxury shopping mall beneath a new public park.
The Challenge
The deep excavation and construction of a large structure beneath the water table in Canary Wharf, surrounded by skyscrapers, required exceptional geotechnical and structural engineering.
Our Solution
A deep diaphragm wall and top-down construction method were employed to create the massive underground space. The park on the roof was designed as a lightweight timber lattice structure to reduce the load on the mall below.
